Rousselot, part of Darling Ingredients and the world’s largest producer of gelatin and collagen peptides, is committed to develop innovative and sustainable production processes. Gelatin is a versatile product which is mainly processed in pharmaceutical applications, confectionery, dairy, fish and meat products, whereas collagen peptides are used for health and nutrition applications. Rousselot’s new range of purified gelatins and collagens target the biomedical market for research and clinical applications. Rousselot has 4 factories in Europe which are located in Ghent Belgium, Gerona Spain and 2 locations in France. The Headoffice of Rousselot is located in Son, the Netherlands with an additional regional office in Paris, France. The sales team is divided among these locations and is responsible for the sales in the region EMEA. Other factories & offices are spread out over the globe, for example in Brazil, China and the US.

 

Rousselot is currently looking for a Sales Manager for food, pharmaceutical and nutrition applications

The sales manager supports sales strategy implementation and sales development in his/her geographic area. In addition, he/she will support strategies to develop new business by opening-up new sales channels and creating sales opportunities.

Geographic area: within the EMEA region, we are currently looking for somebody for the European market. The precise countries can be discussed in accordance with your expertise; languages, preferences and in close coordination with the rest of the sales team.

Key accountabilities on an international level

  • Introducing and selling ingredients in versatile market segments, national and international (i.e. pharma, food, pet food, feed).
  • Maintaining and further developing long term and successful partnerships with key customers and distribution partners.
  • Creating new business opportunities by product application and innovation.
  • Keep client information up-to-date in CRM system (i.e. visits, complaints, company info).
  • Forecasting and realizing sales plans and activities.
  • Forecasting and reporting on prices and volume.
  • Budgeting for the assigned product / market combinations.
  • You work closely together with colleagues of application & development labs, of technical sales, quality and production departments to translate market and customer needs into real business.
  • By following up market trends, visiting food/pharmaceutical/nutrition shows, and by building relationships with prospects and customers you identify and target accounts for new and existing products.
  • You work will report to the Marketing & Sales Director EMEA.

 

Qualifications:

  • You have a master’s degree in business administration, biochemistry, bio-engineering, food science or a related background, and a strong interest in food & nutrition technologies and trends.
  • You have relevant international experience in a B-to-B commercial or business development role, preferably within food-, pharmaceutical or nutrition industry.
  • An excellent knowledge of English is necessary. Good knowledge of Dutch and French is also required. German or another language is a plus.
  • You are customer oriented and willing to deliver high quality solutions. You easily analyze problems, understand customer needs and take appropriate actions.
  • Your organizational skills enable you to prioritize issues and to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Eager to deliver results, you take matters in hand. Your excellent communication skills help you to work within multidisciplinary teams, to interact on different levels, to present information and to explain technical jargon in a clear manner.
  • You show dynamism, eagerness to learn, self-reliance and business curiosity. Although we are a somewhat bigger company, an entrepreneurial mind set is essential to fit in our culture.
